Former British ladies number one and LPGA tour player, Catriona Matthew MBE, has become the latest professional golfer to install world-class practice facilities from Huxley Golf, the PGA’s official supplier of all-weather golf surfaces.
The former Ladies European Tour Player of the Year, Women’s British Open champion and winner of many other professional tournaments has recently had a 375 square feet (114 square metre) Huxley Premier Putting and Chipping Green installed, complete with surrounding fringe areas. As an international touring professional, Catriona’s time spent at home is invaluable. Huxley Golf’s durable, all-weather green will provide completely realistic ball roll, reception and speed, allowing Catriona to hone her impressive short game at any time of year, from the comfort of her own home in North Berwick, Scotland.
The tournament-quality green has been uniquely designed to Catriona’s specifications, accurately reproducing the conditions she faces as a professional golfer. She said: “Huxley Golf worked closely with me to develop a putting and chipping green that would cover the various putts I face on the tour, with both the ball roll and chipping qualities replicating the natural greens on tournament courses. It’s great to be able to practise from home, especially during the winter months, knowing I am giving myself the best chance possible to compete on the world stage.”
